1
1
Cristiano Ronaldo
From: Manchester United
To: Real Madrid
Price: €93m
The FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or winner finally completed his dream move to Real Madrid, and should shine in La Liga.
2
2
Yoann Gourcuff
From: AC Milan
To: Bordeaux
Price: €15m
Milan may live to regret losing the young Frenchman, who was inspirational on loan last season as Bordeaux won the league title.
3
3
Carlos Tevez
From: Media Sports Investment
To: Manchester City
Price: €30m
United fans may brand him a mercenary, an ingrate. Neutrals may ask why he's joining the so-called parvenus at Eastlands. But one thing is certain: Manchester City's second genuinely world-class signing after Robinho is an absolute star.
4
New
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
From: Inter
To: Barcelona
Price: €40m plus Eto'o and Aliaksandr Hleb (loan-to-buy)
Ibracadabra! Sneer at his Champions League record all you want, but his domestic goals win titles, and win them well. With the kind of provision he will receive from Dani Alves out wide, for example, he could finally make a European winner of himself, too.
5
New
Samuel Eto'o
From: Barcelona
To: Inter
Price: Less than free
The fact that Inter have landed a prolific goalscorer - who netted in a Champions League final, no less - and actually made money off it seals a top five place. But the loss of Ibra and of prestige prevents Eto'o - a gifted striker - from topping the charts for Inter.
6
4 (New)
Felipe Melo
From: Fiorentina
To: Juventus
Price: €20.5 plus add-on
Serie A's top midfielder of last season could well repeat the feat in Turin. Melo is a late bloomer who didn't really find his top form in Europe until 2007 - thankfully for Juve it shows little signs of stopping now.
7
5 (4, 3)
Mauro Zarate
From: Al-Sadd
To: Lazio
Price: €25m
Zarate is worshipped in the Italian capital by Lazio fans after his stunning season on loan last term where he led them to the Coppa Italia. The Argentine has now made his move permanent.
8
6 (5, 4)
Kaka
From: AC Milan
To: Real Madrid
Price: €67.2m
There are question marks over Kaka's fitness, but should he stay healthy then there is no doubt that the 27-year-old will be a major hit at the Santiago Bernabeu.
9
7 (6, 5)
Gareth Barry
From: Aston Villa
To: Manchester City
Price: €14m
Manchester City have made a number of puzzling signings this summer, including that of Roque Santa Cruz, but Barry is a fine addition and is just what City need in the centre of their midfield.
10
8 (New)
Aly Cissokho
From: Porto
To: Lyon
Price: €15m
A transfer for fans of Les Gones to sink their teeth into, Cissokho comes to Lyon after Milan attempted to cut their initial bid for him due to a dental problem. It's all smiles at the Gerland: Italy's loss is France's gain with this superb left-back.
11
9 (7, 6, New)
Karim Benzema
From: Lyon
To: Real Madrid
Price: €35m (plus €6m clauses)
The price tag is massive, and he's no David Villa, but as young strikers go they don't come too much better than Karim Benzema. This is the signing that Madrid should have made instead of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar - better late than never.
12
10 (8, 7, 6)
Diego
From: Werder Bremen
To: Juventus
Price: €24.5m
Juventus have been crying out for a midfield playmaker for at least two years now, and they have finally signed a top-class trequartista in the form of the Werder Bremen man.
13
11 (New)
Lorik Cana
From: Marseille
To: Sunderland
Price: €5.8m
The Albania captain, the Marseille captain, linked with Arsenal, linked with Everton, signs for... Sunderland? The Black Cats needed a signing like this to help overcome their sleeping giant status and wake up.
14
11, (New)
Lucio
From: Bayern Munich
To: Inter
Price: Free
Just what the doctor ordered: a centre-back with experience - but who isn't over the hill - who can also slot into an often injury-riven Inter defence. This gives them the depth they need to progress a bit further in Europe - and at quite a price.
15
12 (9, 8, 7)
Raul Albiol
From: Valencia
To: Real Madrid
Price: €15m
Whenever Raul Albiol has been asked to move up a step in class during his career he has never failed to deliver, and it should be no different here for the promising young Spanish international defender.
16
13 (10, New)
Lucho Gonzalez
From: Porto
To: Marseille
Price: €18m+
Some raised eyebrows at what could be considered a 'sideways step', but the Argentine's move from Porto to Marseille is almost certainly a positive for the French club, who have a formidable midfield now.
17
14 (11, 10,
Marco Motta
From: Udinese
To: Roma
Price: €3.5m
Motta is the best right-back in Italy, and he was outstanding for Roma after joining on loan in January. The move has now been made permanent, and the Under-21 star is a guaranteed success at full-back.
18
15, (12, 11, New)
Yuri Zhirkov
From: CSKA Moscow
To: Chelsea
Price: €20.8m
The most expensive Russian footballer of all time is one of the best operating today. Although Chelsea have a surfeit of left-sided options, Zhirkov is likely to set the Premier League aflame when given the chance.
19
New
Keirrison
From: Palmeiras/Traffic Agency
To: Barcelona/Benfica
Price: €14m
A two-for-one ranking here. Barcelona have one for the future, while Benfica have one for the present. The price tag is steep - most of it going to his agency - and the scope for risk significant, but he's turned it on in Brazil...
20
16 (13, 12, 9)
Anatoliy Tymoschuk
From: Zenit St. Petersburg
To: Bayern Munich
Price: €11m
One of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, Tymoschuk will add steel and efficiency to the Bayern midfield, and will be an able replacement for the departing Ze Roberto.

Both villa and ibra are overrated. Barca did a mistake by going for Ibra. If the opposition has very tall central defenders(which is mostly the case), he is not going to head them in (which is the only way he seems to be getting his goals)
Can't understand why somebody should shell out 40m for Ibra, let alone the swapping of Eto. Eto is good but with tonnes of ego and meteoritic wage demands. So should have sold him and bought Sergio Aguero who suits their game plan and is very young too.
Ibra is not about scoring goals alone....He has exquisite ball control and can be compared to Brazilian players..he can create as well as score goals... sweden may not qualify for the next world cup..so in order to be remembered as one of the great soccer players he atleast need one silverware in Europe...so Barcelona is a good choice for him....
Etto is not bad either...When in Barca he was always there to connnect the through passes from Ronaldinho ,messi or Alavez....now he will tap in MAICON's crosses..
