it has to do with bad perfomance by Deigo in the first season with Juventus...
Ozeil was under the shadow of Deigo when he was in Bremen ..But after a 30 mill transfer to Juventus Deigo failed to shine...
so people are reluctant to buy atacking MF from Bundes liga...also Ozeil has a history of personal problems affecting his game ,drifting out of games and inconsistency etc...
many big money transfers failed last year ..like Ibrahamovic,Kaka,Deigo etc...
So this year clubs are more realestic ...

How about the performance of Ozil for Werder Bremen last season ? Did he performed well for them ? His name was seemingly unknown before the world cup. Muller is at one of the biggest clubs in Europe and no need to move. Last season it was Real Madrid who destroyed the transfer market , this season it is City's turn. Real paid 30m+ , Kaka 56m , Ronaldo 80m etc who can match that ...this time it's the turn of City...paying 220,000/week as salary for Yaya Toure ....who will do that..ridiculous.

there is still another whole month left for transfers..

btw although city has spent huge they havent really bought a 'galactico' level player.. i.e ronaldo, kaka etc..

Some matches Ozeil has performed well especialy in trashing i forget the oppenents 6-0 where he had a goal and 2 assists. But he is very inconsistent and is known to miss sitters..Even in some friendlies before the WC he was cryticised of missing sitters..last season he came out of the shadow of Deigo .But I don't think he performed as well as Deigo did for Bremen.
He is known to have some personal problems as well..

Glatico level players won't go to City until they can offer CL football...so First step for City is teh direct CL qualification.Once they achieve that any player will be ready to go there..

    Default man city transfer gossips

Inter striker Mario Balotelli has rejected a bigger pay packet at Manchester United to join former boss Roberto Mancini at Manchester City.

Italy international Balotelli's 25m arrival at Eastlands will spark a transfer merry-go-round, with Emmanuel Adebayor joining Juventus on loan and Mascherano, Liverpool team-mate Dirk Kuyt and Uruguay and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan moving to Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are offering England winger Shaun Wright-Phillips as part of a deal to sign James Milner from Aston Villa.
