Former Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz has had his six-month ban for allegedly disrupting an anti-doping testing session before last year's World Cup lifted on appeal. The Portuguese Anti-Doping Authority handed down the suspension last August after an incident with three of their doping control officers at the Portugal training camp in May.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport today ruled that the former Manchester United assistant's conduct had not "disturbed the sample collection process or the work of the anti-doping officers''. But the panel did brand his behaviour "unacceptable''.
The CAS ruling said: "After their arrival, the anti-doping officers were approached by Mr Queiroz. Following a discussion, the anti-doping officers left to continue the anti-doping control and, as he was walking away Mr Queiroz uttered some very distasteful and sexually descriptive comments regarding the mother of the ADoP president.''
CAS said no players were directly involved in the incident and there was "no evidence that Mr Queiroz' behaviour was intended to disturb the doping control''.
The ruling said Queiroz "did not dispute the fact that his comments were both inappropriate and offensive''.
Queiroz, the former Real Madrid coach who had two spells as Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford, was sacked as Portugal coach two days after a surprise 1-0 defeat to Norway in Euro 2012 qualifying last September.
He announced his intention to appeal against his suspension later that month, meaning he was free to work until the appeal hearing, though he has not found work since then.

Zenit St Petersburg have launched an investigation into an alleged incident of racist abuse involving former Brazil international Roberto Carlos.
Carlos, 37, now plies his trade for Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala and was apparently taunted by Zenit fans prior to his side's 2-0 defeat to the reigning Premier Liga champions on Monday.
A photograph has since emerged of a supporter appearing to wave a banana in the direction of the former Real Madrid star as the two teams entered the field.
Zenit have condemned the alleged incident, and vowed to step up their efforts to stamp out racism by working closely with the country's governing body and the police.
"In connection to the publication of a photograph on which a person in the stands made an unethical gesture toward FC Anzhi captain Roberto Carlos, FC Zenit is conducting an investigation of the given episode together with law enforcement officials,'' read a statement on Zenit's official website.
"Once again, FC Zenit reminds all football fans that racial intolerance is unacceptable. Football unites all people no matter what their social status, skin colour, or confession.
"We have always made every effort possible to prevent racism, however ethnic intolerance and aggression in the stands can be overcome only through joint efforts by law enforcement officials, the Russian Football Union, and clubs.''

Turkey coach Guus Hiddink has said that he will tender his resignation if his side fail to beat Austria and Belgium in their next two Euro 2012 qualifying games.Hiddink's side currently lie third in Group A - behind runaway leaders Germany and Austria - and suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in Azerbaijan in their last game. Now, the Dutch boss has alerted Europe's top club teams - including his former club Chelsea - with the news that he could quit if Turkey do not take six points from their next two.
''I'm trying to make a better Turkish national team,'' Hiddink said. ''If I can't do that, I'll ask the chairman to sack me. Six points from these two games is vital. If we don't get that I can offer my resignation to the chairman and then it's up to him. It will mean that I am not a successful manager.''

Barcelona's Lionel Messi Is Highest Paid Footballer, Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho Is Best Paid Manager

Messi and Mourinho top the rich-list among football personnel...

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is the highest paid footballer in the world while Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho earns more than any other manager in the game, according to a survey by France Football magazine.

The Argentina international, who is widely recognised as the world's best footballer and has won the Ballon d'Or for the past two years, earns 31 million per annum. This amount that he garnered in 2011 came from his salary and publicity deals and is 3.5m more than what Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo earns.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, a former team-mate of Ronaldo at Old Trafford, is third in the list with an annual income of 20.7m. US-based footballers, David Beckham of LA Galaxy and Thierry Henry of New York Red Bulls, are fifth and 11th in the list with earnings of 19m and 13.6m respectively.

In the manager's category, Mourinho heads the top-paid list as he earns 13.5m a year. The Portuguese coach, who won the Champions League as well as Serie A and the Coppa Italia with Italian giants Inter last season, was appointed as tactician at Madrid in the summer.

Barcelona's Pep Guardiola is second behind 'The Special One' with an annual income of 10.5m while Rafael Benitez, who is without a club at the moment after parting ways with the Nerazzurri in December 2010, earned 10.2m. England head coach Fabio Capello is fourth with a salary of 8.5m.

Last month Deloittes annual report on European football revenues was released in which it was revealed that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are the top earning clubs in the world with Premier League powerhouse Manchester United following them in third

Bayer Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes has told a German newspaper talks have already begun over a return to former club Bayern Munich.Heynckes announced on Monday he will leave Leverkusen at the end of the season, and the 65-year-old has already met with Bayern's chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, board member Karl Hopfner and director of sport Christian Nerlinger.
"We were at my house in Schwalmtal late on Thursday afternoon," Heynckes told Bild. "The talks went very well and both the people from FC Bayern and I will now consider things."
Nothing has yet been agreed, not even in principle, but Heynckes hinted that he is keen on returning to Munich for a third time in his career.
"If I wasn't [interested], then I would not even have sat down to talk with them," Heynckes said. "Things could now move very quickly."
Heynckes coached Bayern for the final five games of the season in 2009 after former national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann was dismissed.
Dutch coach Van Gaal's contract will be terminated by mutual consent in June, and Bayern have turned to Heynckes after being impressed by the work he has done in leading Leverkusen to second place in the Bundesliga.
Bayer director of sport Rudi Voller has warned Heynckes against trying to take Arturo Vidal with him when he leaves the club in the summer.
Heynckes is expected to be appointed as the new coach of Bayern Munich for next season and Vidal is one player he appears keen on taking with him, but Voller is convinced that the Chile midfielder will stay put. Voller also expects goalkeeper Rene Adler to remain at the club next season despite rumours of interest from Manchester United.
"I am quite sure right now that Rene and Arturo will be playing for us next season,'' he told the Express newspaper. "We want to extend their contracts and are prepared to push the boat out, but a lot still depends on whether we play in the Champions League next season.''
Both Adler and Vidal are out of contract in 2012 and, should they not sign a new contract, Bayer can only demand a substantial fee for them this summer, but Voller says there has been "no official enquiry'' for either of them.
Heynckes' talks with Bayern have been made official, however, and Voller says he has every right to talk to them after announcing he would not be extending his contract with Leverkusen in the summer, thus becoming a free agent.
"When Bayern call, it can make you go weak at the knees,'' Voller said. "If Jupp gets the chance to work there for a third time then it is obvious that he considers it. That is how this business works. It is perfectly legitimate.''
