Friendly : Germany v Brazil (3-2)
Germany 3 vs 2 Brazil
61' Bastian Schweinsteiger (Penalty)
71' Robinho (Penalty)
67' Mario Gtze
80' Andre Schurrle
92' Neymar
Impressive Goetze on target

Bastian Schweinsteiger inspired Germany with a goal and two assists
Three-times World Cup winners Germany turned on the style to defeat five-times world champions Brazil 3-2 in an entertaining encounter in Stuttgart tonight.
Bastian Schweinsteiger's penalty in the 61st minute gave the hosts the lead and Mario Gotze doubled their advantage six minutes later.
Robinho pulled one back for Brazil in the 71st minute, but 10 minutes from time, Andre Schurrle sealed an impressive German victory in front of 54,700 delighted fans.
Neymar grabbed a second for Brazil in stoppage time, but Germany's victory was as deserved as it was impressive.
Germany held the upper hand throughout the first half, albeit without creating any clear-cut chances to validate their superiority.
Gotze, making his starting debut in Joachim Low's side, shot wide in the 22nd minute before Dani Alves' powerful free-kick from 40 yards gave Manuel Neuer his first test in the 33rd minute. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper chose the safest option by pushing the ball away from his goal.
Alexandre Pato gave Brazil cause for optimism early in the second half when he broke free and lifted the ball over Neuer, but the ball went wide.
Nevertheless, Germany regained immediate control of the game and Philipp Lahm tested Julio Cesar with a shot which skidded off the surface and struck the Brazil goalkeeper in his chest.
That was in the 53rd minute, and six minutes later Lahm's Bayern team-mate Schweinsteiger was given the chance to score from the spot.
Toni Kroos was brushed in the penalty area by his former Bayern team mate Lucio, and the Germany midfielder's tumble prompted referee Viktor Kassai to point to the spot.
Schweinsteiger sent Julio Cesar the wrong way to delight the sell-out crowd in the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Germany grew in confidence and a man whose confidence could hardly be any higher had the fans on their feet again in the 67th minute.
Miroslav Klose pulled the ball back to Kroos, who in turn threaded it through to the in-form crowd favourite Gotze. He rounded Julio Cesar before netting his first international goal.
The game appeared over as a contest until Lahm lost control of the ball inside his own penalty area and caught the foot of Alves with a lunge.
Robinho gave the Selecao some hope from the spot, but Mano Menezes' side were unable to gain any momentum and Germany sealed a deserved win in the 80th minute.
Schweinsteiger stole possession from Andre Santos inside the penalty area and pulled the ball back for substitute Schurrle, who shot first time into the opposite corner.
There was time for Neymar to show why he is attracting interest from many of Europe's top clubs in stoppage time when he shifted the ball onto his right foot and beat Neuer inside his near post with a shot from 20 yards, but it came too late for Brazil.

Friendly
Italy 2 - 1 Spain
Aquilani leaves it late
Injuries to Fernando Torres and Gerard Pique capped a miserable night for Spain as they slipped to a rare defeat against Italy in Bari.
Riccardo Montolivo netted after 11 minutes to cap a good start by Italy, before Chelsea striker Torres was withdrawn, apparently suffering from concussion.
Xabi Alonso levelled from the spot eight minutes before the break, but the night took a turn for the worse for the Spanish as Pique was also withdrawn and Liverpool misfit Alberto Aquilani grabbed a winner six minutes from time.
Italy almost got off to a perfect start when Domenico Criscito struck the post from 25 yards after four minutes.
Andrea Ranocchia fired over after 11 minutes, but their pressure paid off less than a minute later as Criscito found Montolivo, who beat Iker Casillas from the edge of the area.
Things got worse for Spain in the 15th minute when Torres was withdrawn, replaced by Fernando Llorente. It was reported later Torres had suffered mild concussion and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
David Silva brought a save out of Italy keeper Gianluigi Buffon, while at the other end Casillas kept out Giuseppe Rossi's effort from point-blank range.
Andoni Iraola and Santi Cazorla fired wide for Spain, before Giorgio Chiellini brought down Llorente in the box.
Alonso converted from the spot, but it continued to be Italy who looked the more threatening as Antonio Cassano was first denied by Casillas and then twice headed over.
There was further injury woe for Spain before the break when Barcelona defender Pique, who appeared to have picked up a thigh injury, was replaced by Sergio Busquets.
Spain switched goalkeepers at half-time, with Victor Valdes replacing Casillas, but it did little for Cassano as the Barcelona man produced to a save to keep out his 12-yard effort.
Buffon fumbled Llorente's shot on the hour but it did not prove costly.
David Silva forced Buffon to parry 12 minutes from time, but it was Italy who got the winner when substitute Aquilani picked up Giampaolo Pazzini's pass six minutes from time and buried the ball past Valdes.
Mario Balotelli had a chance to finish things off late on but Valdes saved with his feet.

Brazil was completely outplayed and outclassed by Germany.Mano has a lot of work to do if he is aiming for the 2014 WC.His questionable callups and sticking to favourite players are not helping the cause either.A defeat against Spain and Mexico in the upcoming friendlies might seal his fate.

A last-gasp goal from Luiz Gustavo was enough to give Bayern Munich their first win of the Bundesliga season at the expense of Wolfsburg, who can count themselves unfortunate not to have claimed at least a point. The Brazilian midfielder struck practically with the last kick of the game to make it 1-0 and silence the VW-Arena after a legitimate goal from Patrick Helmes had been disallowed in the first half. The rather fortunate win lifts Bayern up to mid-table and gives them confidence ahead of their Champions League bow against FC Zurich in midweek.
Four goals in 17 minutes and a hat-trick from Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar secured an emphatic 5-1 win for Schalke over Cologne at the Veltins Arena. Last season's Champions League semi-finalists fell behind to a Lukas Podolski strike but recovered well to claim all three points as goals from Lewis Holtby and Raul, as well as Huntelaar's hat-trick, gave them their first Bundesliga win of the season.
Borussia Dortmund were brought back down to earth with a bump on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat at Hoffenheim. Having opened their Bundesliga campaign with a convincing victory over Hamburg last weekend, the defending champions were unable to build on that at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, succumbing to Sejad Salihovic's early goal.
Hertha Berlin equalised two minutes before the end of each half to deny Hamburg a win and claim their first point with a 2-2 draw since their return to the Bundesliga. Mladen Petric opened the scoring from the spot for the hosts after 25 minutes, but Tunay Torun levelled just before the break. Son Heung-min restored the home side's advantage just before the hour mark but Andre Mijatovic struck from a corner to salvage a point for the capital club, who also hit the woodwork twice.
Hannover warmed up for their much-anticipated Europa League tie against Sevilla next week with a 2-1 Bundesliga victory over Nurnberg. Mirko Slomka's side forged ahead after a quarter of an hour through Mohammed Abdellaoue and they doubled their advantage when Konstantin Rausch scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Abdellaoue by Nurnberg goalkeeper Raphael Schafer. The home side pulled one back through Tomas Pekhart after 55 minutes but Hannover held on to make it two wins from two this season to build on their impressive fourth-placed finish last term.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart defended their unbeaten starts to the season with a 1-1 draw at the Borussia Park Stadion. The goals arrived in quick succession after a keenly fought first half had ended all square. Gladbach were first to strike with a penalty in the 67th minute, converted by Filip Daems, and Stuttgart replied in the 71st minute through Cacau.

Brazil claim impressive fifth title
(FIFA.com) Sunday 21 August 2011

THE DAY REPLAYED – Brazil claimed their fifth FIFA U-20 World Cup crown on Saturday, beating Portugal after extra time in Bogota, the first time they have won the competition since 2003.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011 ended as it began, with rain teeming down in prelude to the match for third place at El Campin in Bogota.
And for the second time in the competition, following on from their fightback in the Round of 16 against Cameroon, Mexico came from behind to beat France and take third place on the podium, El Tri’s best finish in the competition since 1977, when they ended runners-up. Les Bleuets did not go away too disappointed, however, having completed their best ever campaign in the competition, despite conceding 12 goals, the joint-worst defensive record alongside Costa Rica and Guatemala.
The battle for the bronze medal was followed by the tournament showpiece, in which Brazil claimed their fifth title in the category, avenging the penalty shoot-out defeat they suffered against Portugal 20 years ago and erasing the memory of their loss on penalties to Ghana in the Egypt 2009 final.

Brazil 3-2 Portugal (aet)
Goal of the day
Brazil-Portugal, Oscar (111)
Completing an outstanding display and a superlative hat-trick, Oscar collected the ball wide on the right and sent it looping over Mika and into the back of the net, settling a dramatic final in spectacular style.
Memorable moments
Dj vu: Ulises Davila’s equaliser for Mexico against France was a carbon copy of the goal El Tri keeper Jose Rodriguez conceded in the quarter-finals against Colombia, a speculative shot from long distance slipping between Jonathan Ligali’s legs and over the line. Mexico’s third goal of the day, a powering Edson Rivera header from a Davila corner, was also a repeat of their third goal in that last-eight win over the host nation.
Portuguese motivation: Portugal captain Nuno Reis urged his team-mates on in unique style before the final kicked off. After shaking the hands of the Brazilian players, the Cercle Brugge player took up position behind them and proceeded to shake the hands of each and every member of his team, a bonding exercise that looked to have paid dividends until the South Americans edged the contest in extra time.
Mika falls short: The Portuguese keeper came within 19 minutes of eclipsing the tournament record of 634 minutes without conceding a goal, set by Brazil between 1985 and 1987. Oscar’s deflected fifth-minute opener in Bogota was the fastest goal in a FIFA U-20 World Cup final since Barkero put Spain on the road to victory against Japan at Nigeria 1999.
The stat
5 - The number of goals scored in Saturday’s final between Brazil and Portugal, the highest tally ever in a FIFA U-20 World Cup final one more than the previous highest number scored in the competition showpiece (at Tunisia 1977, Japan 1979, Australia 1981 and Nigeria 1999). Five is also the number of FIFA U-20 world titles A Seleao have now won, one behind the tournament’s most successful nation, Argentina.
