On Sunday morning, the argument led to a fatal stabbing in Nalasopara.A 22-year-old Nigerian killed his roommate at their rented apartment after a brief game of football in the balcony, the police said. The suspect, Michael Nwabu Chukwuma, had suggested that the Argentinian was the greatest,but Obinna Durumchukwu, also from Nigeria, insisted that the title belonged to the Portugal forward. The discussion turned into a brawl. Chukwuma grabbed an empty beer bottle and threw it at Durumchukwu, narrowly missing him.The bottle smashed against a wall and Chukwuma picked up a broken piece of glass and jabbed it into Durumchukwu's throat, killing him.The incident took place in Mahesh Apartments in Nalasopara (E). Durumchukwu celebrated his 34th birthday on Saturday and had spent the night drinking with Chukwuma and other friends.After stabbing Durumchukwu in the second-storey flat, Chukwuma hid in an unoccupied house on the fourth floor. Neighbours had alerted the police by then."He surrendered without resistance. He was charged with murder and will be produced in a Vasai court on Monday," said inspector Kiran Kabadi of the Tulinj police station. "A discussionover the best current footballer led to the incident."
