Mammootty- Siddeeque teams Bhaskar The
Rascal has taken a surprising opening in
terms of occupancies and figures. The film not
only had great occupancies in major centres,
but also in minor stations too. The opening
day gross is reportedly around 1.51 Crore
with a share of around 68 lakhs. Thus the film
has registered the highest opening day for
2015 among Malayalam films, beating 100
Days of Love. What surprised the trade is the
films massive performances from limited
screens in 78.Usually this kind of opening
needs a dozen or more screens for opening
day. There are many factors which have
helped the movie to get this big number. It
was Mammootty and Siddiq’s re-union after
years following Hitler and Chronic Bachelor.
Plus that you have a popular heroine like
Nayanthara and a couple of well received
songs followed by perfect release day, Vishu.
