Action Hero Biju Movie Review #NivinPauly #Biju
Cast: Nivin Pauly, Anu Emmanuel
Screenplay: Abrid Shine, Muhammed Shafeeq
Director: Abrid Shine
Production: Nivin Pauly
Action Hero Biju is not the usual type of cop story which we had been seeing all these years. Abrid Shine has broke the prototype of a cop story. Usually a cop story will have a social issue or an antagonist against which the story would revolve around. Action Hero Biju is just the on screen version what would normally happen with a cop. Biju Paulouse , a straight forward cop (played by Nivin Pauly) deals with the cases which are registered in his police station everyday. Biju takes pride in being a cop, which he expresses at a speech in a school and at the climax where he fights four criminals.
The film required a very tight screenplay and Abrid Shine has given what was needed. Humour runs throughout the movie. A perfect mix of action, emotion and drama helps the movie from not being a stereotypical movie. Rajesh Murugesan (of Premam fame) has done a perfect job in scoring the background music. A song featuring Nivin and Anu was a delight for the eyes and eardrums as well, but seemed unnecessary.
Alex’s cinematography well suited the screenplay, the shots he kept intend to increase the audience’s curoiusity. Very casual dialogues and somewhat believable fight sequences make Action Hero Biju a feel good movie. Individual performances stand up at some places.
It’s very heartening to see Malayalam movies being received well here at Tamil Nadu. If movies like Charlie, Action Hero Biju are running houseful shows, it’s because of the reputation built by Premam and Bangalore Days. Nivin Pauly has created a brand for him here and I am pretty sure that any Nivin Pauly movie will have a good run at the box office here in Chennai.
Action Hero Biju – A realistic and enjoyable ride with a cop!!!
My Rating – 3.5/5
