As a sincere fan of Malayalam film industry Iam really disappointed, frustrated and depressed with the way things are going. I would like to give some of my thoughts below. Everyone one are to blame in this fiasco. I will list out in order by preference:-
1) Exhibitors federation:- By exhibitor federation I mean one and only conman Liberty Basheer. Somebody said that he is a businessman. But according to me he is nothing less than a pimp of Tamil lobby.
2) Producers:- When these producers show their power in front of exhibitors they need to find out a way to release the films and sort out the situation. Instead they are keeping quiet and they are quietly allowing other language films to release. Here our Malayalam films are losing and other language films are gaining.
3) Distributors:- Appreciate the statement made by Siyad Koker saying that even other language films will not be released during strike. But will he be able to stall the release of Bhairava in Kerala. If yes, then my respect and hats off to him. If no, and only Malayalam films are being blocked he is just another nuisance
4) Government:- The government has the responsibility to put in control such dictatorship or monopolistic actions of people like Liberty Basheer. Just because the exhibitors did not pay any heed to them it does not mean the government can wash their hands off. They have a social responsibility towards cinema if they are collecting entertainment tax. And the whole film industry is voting for them.
5) Actors: - I have seen that the actors including the big M's are mum on this issue and they are least bothered. When they make crores of money from films dont they have a social responsibility to save the industry?
6) Our audience:- We will still be doing palabishekam and dappan koothu on bhairava release which will happen only in Kerala. Leave them alone, even in our own FK Bhairava thread is still active. We are not able to stop other languages even here. We are extremely tolerant. Where else will this happen other than Kerala
I think exhibitors are desperate for increased share margins!!
Ethreyum kaalam ivarru udayippu earnings aanu kaanichoondu irunathu. Full and real collections orrikallum distributors, producers kanaarillaa, antha kaalam focus was on days run i.e 50 day run 100 day run etc....
Ippo scene maari, electronic ticketing, online booking vannapool they cannot hide their actual revenue. Plus ippol focus collevtions aannu, distributors are watching like a hawk!
Pazhhe poole ivarru mukkiye collections ekke purrathu vannuuu!!
Their only way out is to increase their legal share from ticket collections. fasheer'inum baaki kallanmaarkum veerre vazhi illaaa

To add on most states have different taxation system for local language films and give tax exemption. Kerala doesnt provide anything. It is the perfect environment for other language films to flourish.
mohanlal and mamooty silence shocking aanu. They have made so much money yet letting the industry go downhill
liberty basher was previously banned from exhibitor federation in september 2015 for monopolistic practise by the competition commision if india. Dont know how this mafia man came back.
the biggest resultnof this strike would be producers moving out of the field, even now those who produce films are mostly thepeeople with cinema kambham. Most people will be fed up with this mafia
