Maashe, you are making a wrong comparison...

1) Malayalam industry is way too small than Bollywood in terms of number of audience and ticket rates. Total number of people who speaks Malayalam is only 3.8 Crore, and of which regular movie goers will be hardly 25-30 Lakhs, where as Hindi movie is watched by more than 1 Crore people from a total population of more than 100 Crore.

2) Enhanced ticket rates - When a Hindi movie is released, it will run on enhanced ticket rates in the opening weekend. Here, the ticket rates are same, be it opening weekend / weekdays or any other weekend/ weekdays

3) For a Bollywood blockbuster, Mumbai circuit alone does the business of 80-100+ Crore.

In short, you are comparing apples with oranges and your data samples are no were close to make a comparison or a conclusion!
