    Director Ram on Mammootty?s ?Mamangam?

Ram, who directed Mammootty?s ?Peranbu? has written the dialogues for the Tamil version of ?Mamangam?.

The Malayalam film Mamangam, starring Mammootty in the lead role, is currently in the post-production stage and is all set to hit the screens on December 12.
The film, originally shot in Malayalam, will be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and all four versions will be released simultaneously. Director Ram of Thangameengal fame who had recently collaborated with Mammootty for Peranbu has penned the dialogues for the Tamil version.
Ram was quoted by Onlykollywood as saying, ?
Much alike Indravizha festival we came across in the book of Silapathigaaram, this one too is based on the festival that happens in Kerala from the ancient times. I wouldn?t say that it?s a Malayalam movie, but it?s an original Tamil film as Chera Kingdom was also a part of Tamil Nadu during the ancient times. When I was approached for the role of penning dialogues, I couldn?t say no. The entire process of working in Mamangam was a phenomenal experience.?

Touted to be the biggest film in Mammooty's career, the makers have spent extensively on the making of the film. They erected a mega set of a battlefield in 20 acres of land, worth over Rs 10 crore, which was built with more than 2000 workers in months. The film stars Mammootty as a fiery ?Chaaver? (warrior) and Unni Mukundan will be seen in the pivotal role of Chandroth Panicker. The film began its production with debut director Sajeev Pillai wielding the megaphone. But due to differences with the producer, he was replaced by director M Padmakumar.
The film has four heroines -- Prachi Desai, Prachi Tehlan, Malavika Menon and Abhirami V Iyer in the cast and those playing supporting roles include Neeraj Madhav, Sunil Sukhada, Meghanathan and Sohan Seenulal. The film has ace cinematographer Manoj Pillai wielding the camera, M Jayachandran scoring the music, Sreekar Prasad in charge of the editing, and Kaecha Khamphakdee choreographing the stunts. B-town music composer Sanchit Balhara is handling the background score. The film is bankrolled by Venu Kunnampilly under the banner Kavya Films.
