On September 24th, Kerala received an award from the United Nations for its “outstanding contribution” towards preventing and controlling the spread of non-communicable diseases, PTI reported. The UN Interagency Task Force award was announced by World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
In June, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja was honoured by the United Nations for her efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. She was among a few of the world leaders invited to speak on the occasion of the United Nations Public Service Day.
This award recognises achievements during 2019 on the multisectoral action in the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, mental health and the wider sustainable development goals related to it. This is the first time Kerala has been recognised for the annual award.

അഭിമാനകരമായ നേട്ടമാണിത്. സർക്കാരിൻ്റെ ആരോഗ്യ നയത്തിനും, ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായ ഓരോ അംഗത്തിൻ്റേയും ആത്മാർത്ഥമായ പരിശ്രമത്തിനും ലഭിച്ച അംഗീകാരമാണിത്.
ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പ് നടപ്പിലാക്കി വരുന്ന ജീവിതശൈലീ രോഗ നിയന്ത്രണ പദ്ധതിയുടെ മികവിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലാണ് ഈ അവാര്*ഡ് നൽകപ്പെട്ടത്. കേരളത്തിലെ ജീവിതശൈലീ രോഗ പദ്ധതിയും അതിലൂടെ ചികിത്സയും സൗജന്യ സേവനങ്ങളും ഒരു വലിയ ജനവിഭാഗത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചത് വിലയിരുത്തിയാണ് ഈ അവാര്*ഡ് നല്*കിയത്. ഇതിനോടൊപ്പം തന്നെ അതിനൂതനമായ ശ്വാസകോശ രോഗ നിയന്ത്രണ പദ്ധതി, നേത്രപടല അന്ധതാ പദ്ധതി, കാന്*സര്* ചികിത്സാ പദ്ധതി, പക്ഷാഘാത നിയന്ത്രണ പദ്ധതി എന്നിവയും അവാര്*ഡ് പരിഗണനയ്ക്ക് കാരണമായി. കേരളത്തിലെ ഈ പദ്ധതി മറ്റ് വകുപ്പുകളുമായും മറ്റ് ഏജന്*സികളുമായും സഹകരിച്ച് പ്രവര്*ത്തിച്ചത് പ്രത്യേകം പരാമര്*ശിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.
പ്രാഥമികാരോഗ്യ കേന്ദ്രങ്ങള്* മുതല്* എല്ലാ തലങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള ആശുപത്രികളിലും ജീവിത ശൈലീ രോഗ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിനും ചികിത്സയ്ക്കുമായി നിരവധി സേവനങ്ങളാണ് ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് മരണനിരക്ക് വളരെയധികം കുറയ്ക്കാനായത് ജീവിത ശൈലീ രോഗികളെ വളരെയധികം നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനായതു കൊണ്ടാണ്. ഈ അംഗീകാരം ആരോഗ്യ പ്രവർത്തകരുടെ നിതാന്ത പരിശ്രമത്തിൻ്റെ ഗുണഫലമാണ്. അവരെ ഹാർദ്ദമായി അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച കോവിഡ് പ്രതിരോധത്തിനുള്ള ഇന്ത്യാ ടുഡെ അവാർഡ് കേരളത്തിന്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ കോവിഡ് പ്രതിരോധ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള സംസ്ഥാന വിഭാഗത്തിലെ ഇന്ത്യാ ടുഡെ ഹെൽത്ത് ഗിരി അവാർഡാണ് കേരളത്തിന് ലഭിച്ചത്. കേന്ദ്ര ആരോഗ്യവകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി ഡോ. ഹർഷവർദ്ധനിൽ നിന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയൻ അവാർഡ് ഏറ്റു വാങ്ങി.
ഡൽഹി, ഒഡീഷ, മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര, ഉത്തർപ്രദേശ് എന്നീ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെ പിന്തള്ളിയാണ് നൂറിൽ 94.2 സ്കോർ നേടി മികച്ച കോവിഡ്* പ്രതിരോധ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള അവാർഡ് കേരളം നേടിയത്.
ട്സ്റ്റിംഗ്, ഐസൊലേഷൻ വാർഡുകളുടെ പ്രവർത്തനം, ഫണ്ട് അനുവദിക്കുന്നതിലും ചിലവഴിക്കുന്നതിലും നടത്തിയ കൃത്യത, മരണ നിരക്ക് കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിലെ ശ്രദ്ധ, മികിച്ച ചികിത്സ, സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം എന്നിവ പരിഗണിച്ചാണ് അവാർഡ് നൽകിയത്.
Kerala gets the India Today Award for the best Covid defense. Kerala got the India Today Health Giri Award in the state category for Covid prevention activities in India. Central Health Minister Dr. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan received the award from Harshavardhan.
Kerala won the award for best Covid prevention measures by scoring 94.2 out of 100 among states like Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The award was given considering the work of testing, isolation wards, accuracy in funding and spending, focus on reducing death rates, better treatment and work of the state government.
