Saif-Kareena wedding preparation yet to begin: Soha

New Delhi: Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor`s wedding is due next year but sister Soha Ali Khan says that they have not started preparing for the wedding as both of them are busy with `Agent Vinod`.

Saif, 41, who announced recently that he will tie the knot with girlfriend Kareena in March, is currently busy with the post-production of his upcoming action-thriller film.

"Currently, they are busy with `Agent Vinod`. After the film we will start their wedding preparation. We don`t want to leave any stones unturned for it. Everything will start after the film gets released," said Soha.

Soha, 33, who herself has no plans of marriage in the near future, is currently busy with her first comedy `Chemistry` along with actor Shreyas Talpade.



"I am excited that for first time I will be doing a comedy film because I was bored after playing widows in the film. It`s a fun film and people will see my humorous side for the first time," she said.

The actress who was last seen in `Soundtrack`, was in the capital to launch Park Avenue`s autumn/winter 2011 range. Asked whose dressing sense does she admire, she said, "I believe my family has a unique style of dressing. My mother was one of the divas of 1960`s and my brother is one of the stylish actors of the industry."

Amitabh Bachchan writes letter to Akal Takht

After being barred by Akal Takht from participating in a religious function, Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan has written a letter to the highest Sikh body, mentioning that he had not said anything against the community during the 1984 riots.

69-year-old Bachchan was asked by the Akal

Takht not to attend the Virasat-e-Khalsa ceremony on November 25 at Anandpur Sahib over his alleged utterances during the riots in Delhi despite receiving an official invite from the Punjab government.

Bachchan, in his letter, said he never uttered any wrong words against the community during the riots and was not involved in any anti-Sikh activity.
The actor said that his mother Teji Bachchan was from a Sikh family and so he and his family were fully aware of the Sikh tenets and customs.

Confirming the receipt of the letter, Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Gurbachan Singh said that it will be discussed during next meet of five Sikh head priests and the next course of action will be decided later.

Takht had issued directions to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar that Bachchan shouldn't be the part of the inaugural function.
Following complaints from various Sikh organisations and intellectuals over the participation, the Akal Takht put the restriction on Bachchan.

Earlier, radical Sikh organisation Dal Khalsa had also taken a tough stand against the Punjab government for inviting filmstars for the inauguration of the complex.

From the Dirty Picture to Don 2, film makers innovate marketing skills

Movie promotions in Bollywood are undergoing a 360-degree transformation. As the fight to grab eyeballs and break the clutter gets hotter, makers are going out of the box for unique marketing ideas.

To promote Vidya Balan-starrer The Dirty Picture in smaller towns, the actor has been put on
the cover — in a first for Bollywood — of a popular Hindi magazine, Manohar Kahaniyan.

“Since the look of the film is popular on the pulp magazine circuit, it’s being promoted with a completely different strategy in heartland India, where the spending power is rising, along with new multiplexes springing up. They have also hired a separate agency, Spice Bhasha, for B and C-tier towns,” says a marketing member involved with the film. So, just like Bodyguard and Force before, The Dirty Picture will also attack cities like Patna and Surat in a grassroot manner.

“Gone are the days where you marketed the movie in the top eight metro cities and your job was done,” says Tanuj Garg of Balaji Motion Pictures, producers of the Milan Luthria film.

Comic fare
A comic book will precede the release of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 that opens in the theatres on December 23. The comic book should release in the first week of December. It will be replicated en masse and sold at kiosks at railway stations across Maharashtra and up north.
