While most young actors would be keen on enjoying their superstardom for a while before looking at other ventures, Prithviraj seems to be aiming higher. The actor, who has already forayed into production with films such as Urumi and Indian Rupee, has also expressed a keen interest to direct one soon.
Rumours suggest that he would mark his directorial debut in Bollywood by remaking the acclaimed Veettilekkula Vazhi, whose rights he had reportedly bought; instead of taking home a fat pay-cheque.
Foraying into Bollywood could be a much easier task for the actor now, since he has bagged two roles in Anurag Kashyap’s Ayya and Yash Raj’s Aurangzeb. “I definitely want to remake Veettilekkula Vazhi in Hindi, but it is not happening anytime soon,” informs Prithviraj.
As for making his directorial debut in Hindi, the actor clarifies, “I never said I would make my directorial debut in Hindi. I am looking for projects in Malayalam. In fact, I have been pestering director Ranjith for the longest time to come up with a script that would be apt to kickstart my career as a director here.”
And does he expect that to happen anytime soon? “It’s not time bound. It will happen when everything falls into place,” assures Prithviraj, who is currently shooting for Lal Jose’s Ayaalum Njanum Thammil.
