Good game by City. Not because of the scoreline. Not taking away the fact Aston is in the bottom eleven. but when paul lamber decides to field a somewhat 6-3-1 format, the only intention beinf defence to death and the final scoreline reads 4-0, that is something. javi garcia and yaya. milner and silva. only dzeko in front. 65 minutes. 15 attempts. city kept on attacking, kept on building pressure. Aston held the fort strong. the chances missed by toure, silva and nasri in the first half made me think about the pundit predictions. they had favored at 4-0 and 3-1 home win. i was having a good laugh over that. wonder what pelligirnin must have told the boys at the break but whatever it was, it must have been a helluva inspirational one. silva does a deft pass to zabaletta who crosses the ball in from the left for dzeko to slot it home. 6 minutes later, another brilliant piece by zabaletta leading to a sloppy goal by dzeko, aston defence drops down to 5 men in the back. for the third one, toure played one-ffot with the defence to pass on to jovetic who shoots it through the defence. that tore the aston spirit. finally their defence were down to 3 men. and then, the icing on the cake. toure picks the ball from his half, past 5 villa players to slot a shot from the right for city's 100th goal of the season. why is that such long-run goals mostly happens from the right. maradona against england, messi against getafe, saeed al owairan against belgium. and here is one, likewise. toure against villa. 4-0. so the pundits were right after all. city showed how one has to hit back when pushed to the wall. 2 points up. 14 goals difference.
