Then how come Drishyam and Premam made heavy collections in Europe? I think everything can work out in the same way. If releasing in Gulf countries is not a challenge why are they not releasing it simultaneously. Iam sure they can get almost the same collections as they get in Kerala because of the Malayalee population. Why did it stop with Mammotty's Varsham?

I also heard that Vikramadityan released in Australia simultaneously but now this does not seem to continue

Worldwide release is possible , but there are some technical and financial difficulties unless and until there is a committed base for the industry and its stars. Releasing Malayalam movies in Gulf Countries is not a big challenge, but other markets ( USA and Europe) is definitely hard. Malayalam movies normally get viewers only during the weekend, and that too only for movies with good promotion and WOM. Most of the multiplexes are looking for one week lease and 80 % of those shows are hardly attended by anyone. The promotion of Malayalam movies are really bad compared to Tamil and Telugu movies.

And another problem is the fans here. All 'pandi' actors have idiotic malayalee fans in Kerala whereas our actors do not have that much of fans in Tamil Nadu. Maybe one Dulquar.

But our people are not using that to the maximum extent

Yes, varsham was the only malayalam movie which had a real world wide same week release so far. If varsham can do so many other movies can do it.delaying releasing a movie for more than two or three weeks in overseas cannot be justified .real box office collection will be gone
