Mammootty To Play Antagonist in Akhil Akkineni’s Agent

Akhil Akkineni is teaming up with Stylish Director Surender Reddy for a film titled ‘Agent’. The team is planning to go on floors very soon. The makers have finalized Malayalam Superstar Mammootty to play the antagonist in the film. Initially, the makers wanted Mohanlal and Upendra for the role but things did not work out for some reason.
Mammootty is familiar to Telugu audiences with many dubbing films. He made his Telugu debut with Yatra – the Biopic of Late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Mammootty would create some market for the film in Kerala as well.
Mumbai-based model Sakshi Vaidya is making her Telugu cinema debut opposite Akhil with the film. Produced under AK Entertainments in association with Surender2Cinema, Agent will release on the eve of Christmas on December 24. But then, with the COVID situation all around, we never know. SS Thaman will be composing the music.
Akhil has pinned high hopes on this movie after not tasting a single hit in his career so far. He currently has Most Eligible Bachelor ready for release but the COVID second wave has prompted a postponement. There are rumors that the makers are also considering the option of a Direct-to-OTT release.
