Ath sheriyanu. But until 2011, even I had visited theaters in Calendar year was just 3 or 4 times. We didn't go for any offbeat movies.
Even I remember fans of opposite actors highly degradation of movies.
It's only after Traffic, Salt n Pepper, Chaapa kurish that people came back to theaters. Superstar concept took a back stabbing. 90s kids like me started careers in that era. Migration to cities Ernakulam, Trivandrum, Bangalore etc for jobs, social media beginning stage, multiplex screens beginning, were synomynous to the youth of that era which also reflcted in the movies being made.

Now these kind of films don't hold have that spark after that we have used to so many content all over the world. The new filmmakers should think out of the box now.

So that 2000-2010 period is actually referred by media and critics in their writing of Malayalam movies which was found in many newspapers articles. That's why we point out this specific period. Also the theater upgradation started in post 2011.

That's not fair. We may not like them. But we shouldn't shut out doors to anyone. We can continue to not watch their movies if not interesting.
Infact I want actors like amit chakalakkal, Rahul Madhav to reach levels as side actors. Dhayan sreenivasan as actor has limitations. So he should stick with comedy as in kunjiramayanam.
