Chitrangada Singh's first commercial masala film Desi Boyz has managed to create a lot of buzz for her. But strangely, the actress who has been going ga ga over her character is missing from the film's poster.

Chitrangada has worked hard for the role it is said she lost oodles of weight to look glamourous. She also learnt salsa to do a special dance sequence in the movie.

Later, debutant director Rohit Dhawan, David Dhawan's son said that Chitrangada's look has purposely been kept a secret since it will be very different than her previous role in the movie Yeh Saali Zindagi. Moreover it's not only her look but also her item number will be revealed much later.

The poster which was unveiled recently only features Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.

    SEXY IS BACK!

Akshay Kumar gets a cool makeover for his new film. B-Towners offer their take...

    Upala KBR

Director Rohit Dhawan brought in designer Kunal Rawal to style Akshay in Desi Boyz. Kunal, who is styling AK for the first time, was excited about presenting the actor in a sexy avatar. In the last few years, Akki hasn’t really cashed in on his looks, and Kunal wanted to change that. BT spoke to B-Town folks about Khiladi Kumar’s new avatar as seen in the promo of the film. Read on for what they had to say....
    Deepika Padukone, Actress
I have always found Akshay to be very sporty and good looking. His fitness is unique and I like this athletic and sporty way of keeping fit. He is looking very good in our film, Desi Boyz.
    Sonam Kapoor, Actress
I love Akshay’s new look in Desi Boyz! My friend Kunal Rawal has designed it and I think Akshay looks spectacularly sexy in that look. I give it a ‘two thumbs up’!
    Shirish Kunder, Producer
In an era when practically everyone has six-packs courtesy steroids, Akshay is a huge inspiration for all the youngsters on what could really be achieved with a healthy lifestyle and natural workouts.
    Farah Khan, Director
Akshay has always been sexy. He doesn’t have to redefine hotness. There was Dharmendra then, we have Akshay now.
    Ana Singh,
    Fashion Designer
He is very good looking, conventionally handsome and can carry most clothes effortlessly. He looks great in formals, casuals and basic stuff.
    Vikas Mohan, Trade Analyst
After Shah Rukh Khan, it is Akshay who has the highest fan following in the overseas market because of his hotness quotient. He looks charming and exceptionally hot in DB, where he plays a naughty, flamboyant guy. This film is going to bring him back in a very big way.
    Krishika Lulla, Desi Boyz producer
I have been flooded with messages in my phone inbox and am receiving compliments from friends who have seen the first DB promo.

Kareena gets over reservations in Heroine script
    By Saranya [September 26, 2011]

Now that UTV has sorted out all the practical problems pertaining to Kareena Kapoor's return to Heroine, Madhur Bhandarkar has taken full charge of the creative aspects of the project once again.
A source very close to the project tells us that Madhur has had two marathon sessions with Kareena over the layered and complex script. And the sessions have gone very very smoothly and to the advantage of both the parties (the director and the actress).
Kareena initially had some strong reservations about the intimate sequences and about some of the verbal content of the character's space. All that has been amicably resolved.
Says the source, "Over two meetings, Madhur and Kareena have sorted out all points of dispute in the script. Kareena expressed the same doubts about the content that she had when she left the film. Some scenes seem to replicate situations and people around her in real life. That disturbed Kareena. Madhur had to explain to her that the scenes were indispensable to the script. He reminded Kareena of how effective Tabu was doing the edgy hard-hitting scenes in Chandni Bar. That convinced Kareena. She is a big fan of Tabu and the film."
The intimate scenes made Kareena uncomfortable since Kareena has not done such scenes with anyone except Saif (in Kurbaan). Madhur convinced Kareena of the imperativeness of the content. He insisted on preserving the scenes the way they are. Kareena has agreed to do exactly what's required.
Says the source, "Kareena and Madhur share a comfort level from the time he offered her Page 3 and Corporate. Kareena has been desing to do a film with Madhur for a long time. She has seen all his films. Once Madhur succeeded in convincing Kareena of how vital those hard-hitting scenes that she was apprehensive about are to the film's impact, Kareena decided to drop all her defences and go straight for the kill."
Apparently, in the two months before shooting, Kareena would undergo intense preparation for the part. This includes getting the body language and speech of the character right.
Says the source, "It's the role of a woman some years older than Kareena. Both the director and Kareena feel she looks far younger than her real age. Kareena needs to fill out a bit. It's the role of a woman who has lived life queen-size. But it's not the role of fading actress, as people believe. Kareena has been asked to get into the skin of the part."
Having got his heroine all revved up, Madhur Bhandarkar was at the Gaiety cinema this Eid on a very special mission. He had gone to check out the mass reaction to Kareena in Bodyguard.
Says a source, "Madhur knows what Kareena is capable of as an actress. But he wanted to again feel the audiences' deep connect with her. Madhur is not making a small art-house film with Kareena. Heroine has to talk and walk the commercial language without resorting to crassness."
Says a source, "Heroine will look at the life of actress at her peak from the opposite end of the spectrum from The Dirty Picture. Cleavages and heaving bosoms are not the point in Heroine. The mind and heart of a woman who has seen the best of times in the glamour industry have to come through. The closest reference point in Hindi cinema is Shyam Benegal's Bhumika. Kareena is all geared up. She has lost the fear of exploring the dark regions of her character. Like she told Madhur, she will surrender to his vision."

Shahid Kapoor vs Taran Adarsh twitter war

I have never seen Shahid ever speak like this before:( There has been a small war of tweets between Shahid and Taran Adarsh(trade analyst).
    Taran Adarsh(trade analyst) tweeted:
#Mausam - The business trends indicate a decline on weekdays.
#Mausam - Shahid's biggest opener, but also Shahid's biggest release in terms of print count & screens. Hence, numbers are below the mark.
Shahid Kapoor tweeted(though he did not mention Taran, it's quite apparent he is hinting at Taran here):
So all those trying so hard to screw mausam can go screw themselves .. Waise bhi aajkal kuchh logon ke adarsh buri tarha gir chuke hain
    Later, Taran tweeted:
Abusing and maligning me on a public platform won't help. Instead, get a reality check and introspect the shortcomings of the film.
