We are the only south Indian state giving free pass to other language movies. We suffered a lot because of that. Things are getting better now.
Removing Malayalam movies for non-Malayalam movies is not the right approach. There should be restrictions like additional taxes for non-Malayalam movies in Kerala. People can release wherever they want, however the regional industry should get higher priority.
Karnataka allows limited number of screens for non- Kannada movies and taxes are high for those movies. Tamil Nadu gives a lot of subsidies and tax deduction to Tamil movies. Telugu industry is getting similar priority in Andhra and Telungana.

Exactly...Non-Malayalam movies are coming with a lot of hype and a small industry like ours can not compete against them in terms of publicity and promotion.
Keep in mind, we are unable to get a releasing center for a good Malayalam movie even in border towns like Nagercoil (almost 50% Malayalam population).
